Folsom’s Historic District Shopping DirectoryHistoric Folsom Station is located on the original Sacramento Valley Railroad (SVRR) depot grounds. The SVRR played a pivotal role during the Gold Rush era linking Sacramento with the town of Folsom in 1856. This made it the first passenger rail service west of the Mississippi. It delivered passengers and goods to the heart of the motherlode and served as the terminus point for the Pony Express.
